Georgetown has been the county seat of Sussex since 1791, and it still feels like the working heart of the county. Everything radiates out from The Circle — the old courthouse, the Brick Hotel, the law offices, and every other November, the crowds that pack in for Return Day. But most of Georgetown isn't the postcard part. It's the residential blocks off Market and Bedford Streets, the neighborhoods near Delaware Tech's Owens campus, and the new communities filling in the farmland around the edges of town.
